Woman shot, killed in Clear Lake-area apartment complex, Houston Police Department says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after police said a woman was shot and killed in an apartment complex in the Clear Lake area on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call at the complex, located at 240 El Dorado Blvd., at about 1:50 p.m.

In an update, Houston police said a woman was shot and taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries. According to police, a male suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

SkyEye13 flew over the scene on Tuesday afternoon at about 2:20 p.m., capturing images of law enforcement at the apartment complex.

Authorities are searching for the suspect but said it is an ongoing situation and there is no danger to the public.
